Residential building with a green roof on Irinis Street

On Irinis Street, in Perivolia, Rethymno, just 50 metres from the town’s main beach, we delivered a modern residential project that combines a privileged location with quality construction and careful architectural design.

Construction began in 2016 on a plot with a total area of 1,271.29 m², with the aim of creating a modern residential building that makes the most of its location while offering a high level of comfort and quality of life.

The total built area is 1,017.03 m², and the building footprint is 559.00 m². The building rises to a total height of 11.50 metres, and its architecture was designed to keep balanced proportions and fit harmoniously into the urban fabric of the area.

Particular importance was given to the building’s relationship with nature and greenery. The plot includes a total of 446.00 m² of planted areas, as well as a green roof of 228.66 m². This choice significantly strengthens the environmental character of the project, giving it a more pleasant appearance and helping to create a better microclimate around the building.

The green roof is a distinctive feature of the construction, turning a usually unused part of the building into an active element of the architecture. Together with the planting of the grounds, it creates a sense of natural continuity and balance, which matters all the more for a property in a densely built urban and seaside setting.

The very short distance from the sea was also decisive for the design and construction. The location offers direct access to Rethymno’s seafront while keeping the comfort and privacy a modern home requires.
